SciFinder Scholar and SciFinder Web

The most comprehensive index to chemical literature, SciFinder includes:

 

  • 29 million references to journal articles, patents and other documents (Chemical Abstracts)

    -- +17 million references to biomedical journals (Medline/Pubmed)

    -- links out to the articles via .

     

  • 38 million substances, many with property data (CAS Registry)

    -- search by name, registry number, structure/substructure

     

  • 15 million chemical reactions (CASREACT)

    -- view from registry record or draw structures

 

SciFinder Scholar and SciFinder Web have the same content, but there are differences:

Setup

You must download and install the SciFinder Scholar software client from the UC SciFinder Site

--Instructions

1. You must first create an account (start at UC SciFinder Site) using your UCSD email address.

2. Logon at https://scifinder.cas.org/ with your new username/password. The only software required is a Java plugin for the structure editor.
